K Troop's Commanding Officer, Capt. John Longhouser prepares to review his troops for the final time during his change of command ceremony in the field. Capt. Longhouser served as K Troop commander from February to June, 1968.
Accompanying Capt. Longhouser, on his immediate right, is 3rd Platoon Leader, Lt. Sandy Mandell of Florida.
Lt. Mandell's identity is confirmed by Jerry Fairfield. In a letter dated April 2, 2010 Jerry writes that he was on K31 from Nov. '67 until Oct. '68.
