Great work! 11Acr provided security for us (86th LCP). We came to Blackhorse from Bearcat, fall of 67, cleared north and south, the rubber trees each side of the road. Also, they were with us operation Emporia I and II and Santa Fe in that summer. Was then transfered to the 595 LE just before Tet. You guys did your job well!

Old Delta tanker. Great site. After 24 years in cavalry outfits I finally retired to Angeles City (where Clark AFB used to be). Are you coming to the Philippines, ask for the Gunner. The Blackhorse stickers you will see everywhere are from two old Blackhorse - Ft. Meade/Nam /Germany/NTC tankers!

Allons!

Great site. I will be back.

I was with (Romesburg's Raiders {Grin}) 2nd Platoon, A Company, 27th Engineers from Sep. 65 (Ft. Campbell) untill Oct. 67 (RVN). 2nd Plt. was the advanced party, along with a few tracks from C troop to establish Blackhorse (Long Giao)in late Oct. 66. I was there from day one. Cut down some of the first trees of what became Blackhorse. I have some pictures of those early days. If I can find them, I'd like to email them to you.

Welcome Home, "ZERO"

Happy New Year Bob & Hellen! Sorry I was "OUT-OF-THE-NET" over Christmas. I was down with pneumonia again but this time they mad every test known to man, including two bone marrow biopsies on my 'Old Trooper' body and found out I'm not quite ready to be DX'd (direct exchange in Army lingo) yet! No bone cancer (via Agent Orange, etc.)

Bob, your page gets more professional every year and I sure am proud to have been in the same unit as someone of your caliber - K Troop, 2nd Plt. 1966-67, that is! You all have a great year and I sure hope to see you both in Nashville in August 2002.

Allons Brother!

K Troop 2nd Plt. June 13,1969 -70 Sheridan tank two-five. Will always remember Blackhose base camp, Anloc, Xuan Loc, Quan Loi, The French plantation Tay Nin, led Zepplin the first album, Bustin triple canopie jungle, setting up ambushes along main trails in the rain, fsb, convoy runs, running full speed inside the Michelin rubber tree plantations, the red dust. thank God! for our bandanas. So far I only have recently been Diagnosis with HCV. I will be starting therapy in the coming months. They have stated that I have a 40% chance to eradicate the HCV using Pegalated Interferon to knock it out. If any of you boys have any information regarding the problem that I'm currently faced with, it would be much appreciated. Later CF

Editor's Note: HCV is Hepatitis C Virus. If you can help Carl with information about this disease, please contact him.

I am a retired E-7. I served with the 11 Armored Cav., C Troop 1/11 from Jan. 1969 to Dec. 1970. I now have two sons who are in the Army. David has just graduated from DSS school at Ft. Jackson, SC. Brian has just graduated AIT Ft. Knox, KY and is a tanker. Needless to say, I am very proud of both of them. The events of 9/11 hopefully were a wakeup call for the US. We must support and pray for all the service members that are and may be put in harms way. I love your web site, it has really brought back some memories.

Thank You,

Tom Kirsch, SFC (Ret.)
