Bonnie
J. Lewellen, 72, of rural Slater, wife of K Trooper, Bill Lewellen died
Thursday, April 11, 2013 at her home. Born April 15, 1940 in Marshall,
she was the daughter of the later Junior and Dorothy Newton Duncan. On October
25, 1959 she married Charles Tuders and he preceded her in death on July 28,
1963. On December 24, 1965 in Marshall she married Bill Lewellen and he
survives of the home. Also surviving is a son, Billy Lewellen and his
wife, Sherry of rural Slater; two daughters, Dee Owers and her husband, Danny
of Leesville, LA, and Charla Heath and her husband, Jimmie of Fulton; four
grandchildren, Bobby Smith, Danielle Owers, Kyle Lewellen and Trenton
Lewellen; and a brother, David Duncan and his wife, Ruth of Slater. She
was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert Duncan, Lester Duncan and Jim
Duncan; and a sister, Delores Petty. Mrs. Lewellen was a member of the
Southside Assembly of God Church in Marshall. She retired from Slater Garment
Co. and lived in the Slater area most of her life.
